The Blurb

An heiress in distress and an earl in disgrace…

When heiress Violet Dunston escapes from an abduction, she finds an unlikely protector in Jack Warriner—a member of one of England’s most infamous families. Ensconced with mysterious Jack behind his manor’s walls, soon escape is the last thing on Letty’s mind!

Jack may be an earl, but his father’s exploits have left him with nothing to offer except a tarnished name. He’s turned his back on the ton, but with Letty tempting him day and night, he finds himself contemplating the unthinkable—a society marriage!

Review

First book in the ‘The Wild Warriners’ series, A Warriner to Protect Her. Released in May 2017.

Wow! What an opening scene! Fast, full of intrigue, suspense and set the pace for the entire book wonderfully. I would have happily stayed in… what’s the opposite of a man cave? Delightful den! Until this tale was over but I’ve carried this book around with me for days and now I’m devastated that it’s over, I may read it again.

Jack Warriner, our hero is the eldest of four brothers and he is the essence of ‘man’ “…Primal… Male… Territorial…” He protects what is his fiercely and without reservation. His past shaping him into a man I’d take out to dinner anytime.

But what Jack needed, to break his resolute need to be the ‘responsible one’ was “… a feisty woman to stand up to him…” and she came in the form of the ‘Tea‘ heiress Violet ‘Letty’ Dunston.

Saving our heroine, from what I can only describe as a breath-taking scene, Letty becomes Jack’s ward and as she counts down the days and hours until she is free, love blossoms…

But Jack refuses to believe that a ‘Tea heiress’ could possibly love a farmer with such a tarnished name and past. But he wanted to “slay Dragons” for Letty. Theoretical Dragons, but Dragons nevertheless! All to protect his damsel in distress, Letty…

Letty is courageous and tenacious, a role-model for any era. Letty breaks down Jack’s barriers by simply being herself. Jack and Letty both have an overwhelming need to ‘belong’ and to be recognised for who they truly are, and oh my, did they, in each other arms.

Not only have I fallen in love with one brother Jack, I have fallen in love with four, Jack, Jamie, Joe and Jacob, ‘The Wild Warriners.’

Virginia Heath’s clever writing has given me solid snippets, into each of these characters without detracting from the central romance and it was difficult not to let affection swell for each of these brothers. So different in personalities yet all of them alluring and lovable.

The writing is complex but light, witty and clever. I can not wait for the next installment in this series!

Get pre-ordering now, this is not a tale to be missed. 5/5 stars from me! A Warriner to Protect Her – Virginia Heath
